Drive sales with product recommendations
Last updated July 1, 2026
Customers check their order status 3–5 times between purchase and delivery — and unlike ad traffic, these are proven buyers in a good mood, actively visiting your store. The product recommendations block puts relevant products in front of them on every one of those visits, turning your tracking page from a cost center into a sales channel.
For the bigger strategy picture, see Increase sales and revenue with your tracking page.
Enable the recommendations block
- From your Shopify admin, go to Apps → Parcel Track → Tracking Page.
- Open the Product recommendations section.
- Toggle Show product recommendations on.
- Configure the options below, then click Save.
The block appears on your tracking page immediately — including HTML page embeds.
Choose a recommendation source
Pick where the products come from:
- Best sellers — your store’s top-selling products. The zero-effort default; a strong choice for most stores.
- Collection — hand-pick a Shopify collection. Ideal for promoting new arrivals, sale items, seasonal picks, or accessories. Create a dedicated collection (e.g. “Tracking Page Picks”) to control exactly what shows.
- AI-related products — recommendations based on what’s in the customer’s order. Someone who bought running shoes sees socks and insoles, not more shoes. Best for stores with wide catalogs and natural cross-sell pairs.
Tip: Start with Best sellers, let it run for two weeks, then test AI-related and compare click and revenue numbers in Tracking page analytics.
Display settings
- Title — the heading above the block. “You may also like” is the default; “Complete your order” or “Customer favorites” also perform well. The title is translatable on multilingual tracking pages.
- Number of products — show 4 to 12 products. Four in a single row is clean on desktop; on mobile, products display in a swipeable carousel.
- Placement — choose where the block sits on the tracking page:
- Below the tracking timeline (default) — customers see their shipment status first, then products. Highest visibility without getting in the way.
- Sidebar — next to the timeline on desktop, below it on mobile.
- Bottom of page — most subtle placement.
Clicking a product opens its product page in your store. Visual tweaks (card borders, title size, spacing) can be made with custom CSS.
Measure clicks and revenue
Parcel Track attributes activity from the recommendations block so you can see whether it’s earning its place:
- Go to Apps → Parcel Track → Analytics.
- Open the Tracking page report — see Tracking page analytics for the full walkthrough.
- Review the recommendations metrics:
- Impressions — how many times the block was viewed
- Clicks and CTR — product clicks and click-through rate
- Attributed orders and revenue — purchases made after a customer clicked a recommended product
Use the date selector to compare periods — for instance, before and after switching the recommendation source.
Note: Revenue attribution counts orders placed within the attribution window after a recommendation click. It’s designed to answer “is this block making money?” rather than to replace your full marketing attribution stack.
Best practices
- Keep the tracking info first. Customers came to check their package; recommendations work best as a bonus, not an obstacle. The default below-timeline placement respects that.
- Match the season. With the Collection source, rotate in seasonal collections — gift guides in Q4, new arrivals at launch.
- Mind delivery mood. Recommendations convert best when the order is moving normally. Pair this feature with clear estimated delivery dates and proactive notifications so customers arrive at the page relaxed, not frustrated.
