Parcel Track

Set up a multilingual tracking page

Last updated July 1, 2026

If you sell internationally, your tracking page should speak your customers’ language — a shopper who checked out in French shouldn’t hit an English-only page when tracking their parcel. Parcel Track ships with translations for 30+ languages and detects each visitor’s language automatically, so for most stores multilingual tracking works out of the box.

What’s translated

Every built-in string on the tracking page: the lookup form labels and buttons, shipment statuses (In Transit, Out for Delivery, Delivered, and the rest), timeline labels, error messages, estimated delivery date text with localized date formats, and the product recommendations heading.

Your own custom content — custom status names, a custom recommendations title — is translatable too, through the same translations editor described below.

Automatic language detection

By default, the tracking page follows the storefront locale. Shopify exposes the language the customer is browsing in (e.g. yourstore.com/fr/... for French on a store using Shopify Markets or multiple published languages), and Parcel Track renders the tracking page in that language automatically.

Detection order:

  1. Storefront locale — the language the customer is browsing your store in.
  2. Browser language — if the storefront locale is unavailable (e.g. a direct link from an email), the visitor’s browser preference is used.
  3. Default language — your fallback, configurable in settings.

This applies everywhere the page renders: the proxy URL, HTML page embeds, the order lookup widget, and the block inside Shopify customer accounts.

Configure languages

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Apps → Parcel Track → Tracking Page.
  2. Open the Translations section.
  3. Set your Default language — used when detection can’t determine a language.
  4. Review the list of enabled languages. All 30+ are enabled by default; disable any you don’t want served.
  5. Click Save.

Force a single language

If you’d rather the page always display one language regardless of the visitor, toggle Auto-detect language off and pick a fixed language. Useful for single-market stores that want full control.

Manual override for customers

A language switcher can be shown on the tracking page (toggle Show language selector in the Translations section). Customers can also be sent to a specific language directly by appending a locale parameter to the URL:

https://yourstore.com/apps/parcel-track?lang=de

Handy when segmenting notification emails by market.

Edit individual translation strings

Every string can be overridden — to match your brand voice, fix a wording preference, or adjust tone:

  1. Go to Tracking Page → Translations and select a language.
  2. The editor lists every string with its default translation.
  3. Type your replacement next to any string. For example, change the French “Livré” to “C’est arrivé !” if that fits your brand.
  4. Click Save.

Overrides only affect the strings you change; everything else keeps the maintained default translation. Empty overrides fall back to the default, so you can’t accidentally blank out the page.

Tip: The most impactful strings to review are the status names and the lookup form’s error message — they’re what customers read most, including when an order can’t be found.

Right-to-left (RTL) support

Arabic, Hebrew, and other RTL languages render with full right-to-left layout automatically — text alignment, the status timeline direction, and form fields all mirror correctly. No configuration needed; it activates whenever an RTL language is served.

If you use custom CSS, test it in an RTL language too — directional properties like margin-left may need logical equivalents (margin-inline-start).
